Castro-Yves is multi-disciplinary multimedia artist who’s detailed costumes and props have earned him multiple first placements in over a dozen major juried costume contests in the past 2 years alone. His “YellowJacket” cosplay from the movie Ant-Man was signed by Marvel Comic creator Stan Lee himself at the 2015 Boston Comicon and it was a runner up for best of show.
Founder and sole artisan of his new venture GiveWave Studios, he does it all from tutorials to custom commissions, to selling on his studio’s Etsy page but mostly enjoys sharing his love and passion for his craft with others. In this spirit he’s also created and runs #cosplayfridays, which is a public cosplay community-building initiative. Through opening his studio space, he allows attendees to access/learn/use advanced tools as well as provide his skill-sets a& knowledge s a professional all in a very laid-back judgement free environment.
Other recent projects have included a life size replica of Play Arts Kai’s Boba Fett Variant, The Vulture from Spiderman Homecoming and multiple futuristic laser cut, 3D printed and electronic props for Sci-Fi & gaming enthusiasts.
